My final post in this breakfast series just wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t share my simple avocado toast recipe! But with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I decided to make it a little more cute and fun :). So I made my same basic recipe, got a heart cookie cutter involved, and viola! Look at these dang cute little hearts!
This recipe is totally adaptable too to however you may prefer your avocado toast. Sometimes I add tomatoes or cheese to mine as well, but this is always my starting point. Hate avocado? No problem! You can just do the toast and egg portion and it will still be super cute for Valentine’s Day morning!
Oh and of course you don’t HAVE to do the hearts. On days where I am not trying to be cute or you know, it isn’t Valentine’s Day, I just put the avocado on my toast, and the egg on top of that. Simple, classic, delicious, you seriously have to try it out!
Avocado toast is a delicious and healthy way to start your morning! Using a heart cookie cutter you too can achieve this Valentine's Day inspired cuteness!
- 1 piece bread
- 1 large egg
- ½ avocado, mashed
- 1 tbsp red onion, chopped
- salt & pepper to taste
Prepare one a piece of toast.
Fry egg in pan over high heat. Be careful not to pierce to yolk!
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut a heart out of the toast and out of the egg. Place the egg inside the toast.
Combine avocado, red onion, and salt & pepper. Spread onto the heart shaped piece of bread.
Place the two pieces of toast next to each other, serve, and enjoy!
