Christmas Favorites and Taking a Break!

Christmas is in FOUR days!!!! HOW did that happen?!? Like really though…how. Anyways, with Christmas around the corner I have been easing out of my blog work a bit to chill and hangout with family and friends over the holidays. So today I will be sharing my Christmas favorites with you, based on some questions I found online, and then I will be MIA for a week!

Christmas Favorites

Favorite Christmas movie?
The Santa Clause

Favorite Christmas song?
Do They Know It’s Christmas? – Band Aid

Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes! One year we even had a rainy Christmas and a snowy Easter… Good old northeast weather.

Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until the last minute?
Both! I started shopping this year on Black Friday, bought a few things here and there throughout the season, and just finished today…December 21st. 🙂

When does your family put up your Christmas tree and who decorates it?
This year was the first year I put up my own tree, and I put it up on Black Friday.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake, sadly. I grew up with real trees and love the look and smell of them better, but sadly my husband is allergic. So fake it is for life! It is way less mess though, so I really can’t complain.

Peeking at gifts or be surprised?
I love to be surprised now. But I used to peak all the time growing up. Sorry Mom!

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Pro! I am not super quick, but I get those edges all nice a crisp. I also just love wrapping gifts, anyone else?

Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?
Yes, with girl scouts when I was about 10. I mean I also tend to just sing about wherever I go, so if singing down the aisles of my grocery store and Target counts, then I go caroling all the time!

What tops your tree?
A pretty light up star!

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Just one or two, usually pajamas. I loved this tradition growing up though, so I plan to continue it!

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
🎶You know Dasher and Dancer and  Prancer and Vixen…Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen…But do you recall…the most famous reindeer of all?🎶 Rudolph! (and no I didn’t google this, I just really love Christmas music)

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Being our first Christmas as a married couple, I am looking forward to continuing some traditions from both our families, as well as starting a few of our own!

What is your all-time favorite holiday drink?
I have two! One is the peppermint chocolate chip milkshake from Chickfila and the other is a chestnut praline latte from Starbucks.

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Both? I really love giving gifts, but of course receiving them is fun…I think I would say giving though because I love going out and buying gifts for people. It just feels good!

Do you like to stay in your PJ’s, or dress up for Christmas?
PJ’s all day! I will get my Christmas PJ’s Christmas Eve, and stay in them until the day after Christmas when I get dressed to visit family.

Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning…wait do people open their presents on Christmas Eve? I have never heard of anyone doing that before!

Candy Canes or Gingerbread Men?
Candy canes

Build a snowman or have a snowball fight?
Build a snowman!

Coffee or hot chocolate?
Coffee…always.

Which do you like better, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
There is definitely something magical about Christmas Eve and the anticipation, but Christmas day is ultimately my favorite

White lights, or colored lights?
White lights, and if you like colored lights you’re wrong…I mean I respect your opinion, but white lights are better. 🙂
