My First Time Taking Portraits

Yesterday I had the incredible opportunity to take pictures of my beautiful friend and roommate, and let me tell you. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!

I have always had an interest in photography, but never really had the opportunity to explore that interest (mostly due to the fact I didn’t put myself out there). When I casually mentioned to Mikayla that I would take graduation pictures for her, I never expected how exciting it would be for me. My camera is not the best, I have very little experience editing, and I had literally never done any of this before! Despite all my fears though, I had the best time leading her around, telling her where and to pose, and capturing her images.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Graduate in front of a pond with a swan swimming by.

Graduate on the end of a bridge with trees framing the shot.

Graduate in front of a pink, flowering tree and pond.

Graduate in a gazebo overlooking a pond.

Graduate wearing her cap in front of pink, flowering trees and pond.

Girl standing on a bridge looking at a swan in the pond surrounded by ducks.

Girl in front of a red tree at Millersville University

Graduate in her cap and gown standing near a Millersville University sign.

Graduate in her cap and gown standing next to the seal of Millersville University

Graduate in her cap standing in front of a piano in a blonde concert hall.

The amount of fun I had doing this was unreal, and I really hope this is just the start of something more. This past few weeks have been filled with so much excitement professionally, creatively, and personally. I don’t what the future holds, but I am liking where I am headed. I am having the best time chasing my dreams.
